Strengthening Community Resilience

Strengthening Community Resilience

Iniskoy for Peace and Development Organization (IPDO) proudly participated in the Capacity Building Training for the Community Disaster Volunteer Network (DVN) on Disaster Preparedness, Response, and Recovery.
The two-day training was held at Jeeri Tower Hotel in Baidoa from 15–16 February 2026. The initiative was organized by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction and the United Nations Development Programme, with generous support from the European Union.
The training focused on strengthening the capacity of community-based disaster volunteers, enhancing preparedness mechanisms, and improving coordinated response and recovery efforts in the face of emergencies.
IPDO’s participation reflects our continued commitment to promoting community resilience, empowering local volunteers, and supporting sustainable disaster risk reduction initiatives across Somalia. Through collaboration and knowledge-sharing, we aim to build safer, more resilient communities prepared to respond effectively to future disasters.
