IPDO Participated in Regional Cross-Border Conference on Ending FGM

On 28 February 2026, Iniskoy for Peace and Development Organization (IPDO). participated in the Regional Cross-Border Conference on Ending Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), organized under the UN-ACT “Solidarity in Action” Project. The conference was held in collaboration with the Ministry of Employment, Social Affairs and Family of the Republic of Somaliland, the European Union, SIHA Network, and UN Women.

The event brought together civil society organizations, women leaders, policymakers, and development partners to strengthen cross-border collaboration, share experiences, and advance collective strategies aimed at eliminating FGM. Discussions focused on reinforcing community engagement, policy advocacy, and coordinated regional efforts to safeguard the rights, dignity, and well-being of women and girls.

IPDO was officially represented by its Executive Director, Norta Shareif. Her participation highlighted the organization’s continued commitment to promoting women’s rights, supporting protective mechanisms for girls, and contributing to meaningful regional dialogue and action.

IPDO reaffirms its dedication to working alongside partners and communities to end harmful practices and build inclusive, peaceful, and empowered societies.
