On September 4–5, 2024, the Iniskoy for Peace and Development Organization (IPDO) successfully conducted a capacity-building workshop for regional and federal security forces in the South West State of Somalia.
The training covered essential topics, including Protection of Civilians (PoC), International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights Law (IHL/IHRL), the Human Rights Due Diligence Policy (HRDDP), and other key human rights principles. These sessions aimed to strengthen the capacity of security personnel to carry out their duties in line with national and international human rights standards.
This capacity-building initiative was funded by OHCHR and UNSOM and implemented by IPDO. By emphasizing human rights, accountability, and the protection of civilians, the training contributes to fostering a safer, more just, and rights-respecting environment for all communities.
